MINUTES OF A MEETING OF TETNEY PARISH COUNCIL
Held at St. John's Methodist Chapel schoolroom on the 17th March 2025

27/25 CHAIR'S WELCOME
Cllr McMillan welcomed everyone to the meeting. He explained the building was a no smoking venue and where the fire exits were located. Cllr McMillan informed the Council that Cllr Taylor had resigned from the Council with immediate effect. He thanked her for her service. A letter of thanks will be sent and Clerk to contact ELDC.
                                             
28/25 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
Cllr Moorby previously put forward his apologies due to other commitments. All in favour of accepting the apologies. Resolved to accept apologies.

29/25 DECLARATION OF INTERESTS
a) To record declarations of interest by any member of the Council in respect of the agenda items

30/25 MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING held on 13th February 2025
Had been previously circulated. Proposed by Cllr Fletcher and seconded by Cllr Lukehurst to accept the Minutes. All in favour. Resolved to accept minutes. 
"These be adopted as a true record".

31/25 OPEN FORUM 
None.

32/25 TO RECEIVE EXTERNAL REPORTS
a) ELDC -  A container ship involved in the collision in the North Sea last week is now 11 nautical miles from Mablethorpe and secured by tug boats. The coast and surrounding waters are being monitored for pollution and plastic nurdle pellets have been found.

b) LCC - The pre-election period starts on 19th March. LCC Highways have begun a consultation on extending the 30mph speed limit on Station Rd to past Woodside industrial units. After negative comments on social media a vote was taken on asking LCC to amend the proposal to ending the 30mph extension at the Golf Club entrance. The Parish Council decided to support the original extension limit proposed by LCC. Clerk to put comments forward. Consultation runs until 16th April and the public can email TRO@lincolnshire.gov.uk to put their comments, objections or support forward.
c) Outside representatives – FOTPS Easter bingo, Saturday 5th April, 1-4pm £10 including fish & chips and bingo books. Charity race night in The Plough Inn, 10th May. Summer fair 28th June, all welcome.
St. John's Chapel holding an Easter coffee morning on Saturday 12th April 10.30am. All welcome.


33/25 PARISH COUNCIL MATTERS
a) Providing a footpath to the benches at the crossroads - Clerk has applied for a community assets agreement form from LCC for permission to install the footpath on LCC land. Agreed a concrete path would be most practical. Resolved: Clerk to obtain quotes for concrete path.

b) Salvation Army quotes for the Christmas fair - No fee so donation of £200 proposed by Cllr Fletcher, seconded by Cllr McMillan, all in favour. Cllr Flecher has booked the band.

c) Replacement Lime trees for Town Rd and planting ceremony details - Ceremony to be held on Saturday 5th April at 10.30am outside Waverley, Town Rd. Contractors to arrive at 10.15am with saplings to dig holes ready for planting. Clerk to invite Mrs Crowson's family and friends to the ceremony and to St. John's Chapel afterwards for tea and biscuits. Clerk to have plaque engraved with "These lime trees are dedicated to Phyllis Crowson for her lifelong contribution to Tetney. 1932-2025." Plaque to be placed on bench. Clerk to contact Chapel to arrange. All welcome to attend.

d) 80th anniversary of VE day - Retrospectively agree to pay £300 fee to book "Charlotte and John" for VE Day entertainment. Proposed by Cllr McMillan, seconded by Cllr Anderson. All in favour. Resolved: To pay £300 for VE Day entertainment. Entertainers will sing at Town Rd/Station Rd corner at 1pm, Staves Ct at 2.30pm and Jubilee Gardens at 4pm.

County Cllr McNally arrived at 8.25pm
35/25    EXTRAORDINARY ITEMS      (for information purposes only)    
Resident has asked for a dog poo bin to be installed on the Golf Club estate and Thoresby Rd entrance to estate. Clerk to contact ELDC to obtain permission form.
Cllrs have reminded allotment holders to keep dogs on leads and on their own allotments.
Cllr Fletcher to contact Mr Holden to ask if he could quote for clearing the dykes between is field and the allotments and along Holton Rd as major flooding occurred due to blockages.
A half allotment plot is available, to be advertised on social media.
Clerk to contact PRIDE team and ask if they could clear the public footpath at the rear of Westlands Ave again.
Resident has complained they were unable to visit the cemetery due to parents parking in the cemetery lay-by, Cllr Fletcher to contact the school and ask for parents to be more mindful.
