MINUTES OF A MEETING OF TETNEY PARISH COUNCIL

Held remotely via Zoom on the 11th January 2021

1/21       Chair's Welcome

               Cllr McMillan wished the Councillors and parishioners a happy new year and welcomed  newly co-opted councillor Derek Cruickshank to the Council.

               He explained the meeting was being held remotely due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and wished everyone with symptoms a speedy recovery, and reminded everyone to stay at home as much         possible.                                         

              Cllr McMillan informed the Council of the passing away of former Cllr Blair Maynard and thanked Cllr Roger Lukehurst for attending the funeral and representing the Parish Council. It was agreed a minutes silence will be held once physical meetings can be held again.                                

 

2/21       Apologies for absence

               All Councillors present. Apologies were received in advance from County Cllr McNally.

 

3/21    DECLARATION OF INTERESTS

             To record declarations of interest by any member of the Council in respect of the agenda

              items listed below. Members declaring interests should identify the agenda item and    

             type of interest being declared. None.

             To note dispensations given to any member of the Council in respect of the agenda items 

             listed below. None.

 

4/21       Minutes of the last meeting held on 25th November 2020

              Had been previously circulated. Proposed by Cllr Hill and seconded by Cllr   

             Blagg to accept the Minutes. Resolved to accept minutes.

               "These be adopted as a true record".

5/21       Open Forum

               Cllr Lukehurst raised the issue of large lorries passing through North End Crescent now the weight restriction signs have been removed from both ends of the Crescent.

               Clerk to contact Highways. 

 

6/21       To receive reports from

               ELDC - Cllr Craig Leyland has reported that Covid vaccination centres will be set up across the area imminently.

               Planning committee to meet on Thursday, Fairlawns application to be discussed, Cllr McMillan to speak although recommendation is to approve application.

               LCC - Cllr McNally to forward report to Clerk for distribution.

               Outside representatives - Village Hall have completed renovations on the toilets and HIghways resurfaced entrance.

               Police panel meetings suspended, meeting to discuss new priorities will take place in next few weeks.

 

/7/21     Precept

               Annual precept discussed, proposed and seconded to raise precept to £19,000. All in favour.

 

8/21       Financial report

               Previously circulated. Proposed and seconded to accept finances.

 

9/21       New website update

               Website is now live, Clerk expressed thanks to Mr Langford for his support whilst creating  the website. Proposed and seconded to make donation of £50 via LALC to Mr Langford's  charity choices RAF Benevolent Fund and Guide Dogs for the Blind.

 

10/21    Cemetery Fees

               Proposed and seconded to increase fees by £5 for residents and £10 for non-residents. Clerk to update and circulate to Funeral Directors.

               Headstone approved for Mrs Hodgkinson.

 

11/21    Other items

               Allotment contracts to be sent this week, proposed and seconded to increase rents by £1/£2    for half /full size respectively.

               Cllr Fletcher to contact Vincent farm estate manager to enquire if builders next to allotment have sought permission to dig entrance up.

               Christmas meal delivered on 17th Decemeber to elderly residents, several letters of thanks received. Residents received full Christmas dinner with trimmings, Christmas pudding, mince pie and a small gift of chocolates. Grant received from Dist. Cllr McMillan  for £500, total cost £537.

               Thursday 11th February 2021 - cancelled

               Monday 8th March 2021

               Thursday 8th April 2021, in the Chapel school room at 7.30pm or via Zoom.

 

14/21    To resolve whether to go into closed session.

               Council decided not o go into closed session.
